Concept The Global Map is a platform for people to learn about the present state of the earth and take a broad view of the earth for the future.
Features Developed with the cooperation of many countries in the world
The Global Map is being developed by gathering the maps developed by each country in the world as its own official data. Each map is developed by a national mapping organization from each country. In Japan, the Geographical Survey Institute it is responsible for the map.
Available to everyone free of charge

The data on the Global Map is available via the Internet. You can download it from the ISCGM website, and anyone can use it free of charge for non-profit purposes only.(*)

*Commercial use of the Global Map

The commercial use of the Global Map had been proposed to ISCGM by Japan. Then November 11, 2008, In addition to non-commercial purposes, Global Map V.1(Global version, vegetation[Percent Tree Cover] Layer and Land Cover Layer) became also available for commercial purpose.
Spatial display of various kinds of information
The Global Map is the tool, a platform for spatially expressing all kinds of information on the earth. It will deliver full performance when you arrange it or add information to it, not use it as it is.
