We started the contest in 2006 using the Global Map in order to provide more
people with opportunities to directly come in contact with the Global Map, to
inform more people about it, and to find new uses for it.
The Global Map Contest will be held accompanied by other events in many areas,
with the cooperation of teachers who are eager to teach using maps and have held
the Map Contest and other various events related to land surveys as well as map-related
organizations and companies. The Global Map Contest will consist of a competition
in a free study or an original map using the Global Map and is mainly targeted
for children. Notification, application, commendation for excellent works and
demonstration of the works will be via the Internet and mass media. Please look
