We can create an observation map with a united effort by reporting the state of the places where we live and recording it on the Global Map, such as maps of global warming (temperature survey), acid rain (pH monitoring), pollen dissemination (reporting the condition of our body), and the flowering of cherry blossoms as examples.

When you decide on the route for climbing and skiing, the relief map from the Global Map is very useful. By reading the Global Map into certain software applications such as KASHMIR 3D, you can obtain a three-dimensional map. You can carefully work out the route imagining the actual contours of the terrain.

International cooperation for environmental problems

By using the environmental and disaster sections of the Global Map and forming an international consensus, activities for international aid and rescue are aggressively promoted.

The map on the right was created by the Geographical Survey Institute of japan using the Global Map just after the disasters from the tsunamis in the Indian Ocean after the Sumatra earthquake occurred in 2004. The Japanese Government and other groups used the map for rescue activities.
