| Global Map School Organizing Committee
was established! |

As the first activity of the Global Map, children in Japan and the Philippines
will introduce their own countries via the Internet or TV conferences using the
Global Map in the autumn of 2006 (planned).
The other day, the Global Map School Organizing Committee was established with
the approvals of various fields representing business, government, and academia
under the initiative of school teachers who had the strong intention to support
this project, and the first Executive Committee Meeting was held as follows.
Many Committee Members participated in the Meeting, and Mr. Hiroshi Ota, who is
active in the education of geography using GIS, was selected as the chairman.
We will push forward the Global Map School project in the future, with discussions
from the Committee Meeting reflected in it. |
